How to get to Verbier
By Train
Travelling to Verbier by train is easy. Use the SBB app to book your trip and book from your departure station all the way to Verbier. The train takes you to Le Châble, and from there the cable car - as part of the SBB public transport network - brings you directly up to the village, all on the same ticket. Bikes are welcome on the lift, and a dedicated cabin is available for larger luggage and suitcases. The cable car from Le Châble to Verbier runs from 5.15am - 11.45pm.
By Car
If you prefer to drive, you can make your way directly to The Ride Inn. Parking in Verbier is limited, so please get in touch before your arrival if you require a parking space and we'll do our best to help.
By Plane
Geneva Airport is the closest international airport and is well connected to Verbier by public transport. From the airport, take the train to Le Châble (usually with one easy change along the way), then hop on the cable car for the final scenic journey up to Verbier.
By Foot
It will be a long walk, assuming you’re coming from further afield. Save your energy for biking!
Riding Level
Our weekends are best suited to riders from HIGH Intermediate (Level 2) and above. Don't worry if you're not sure where you fit—we're happy to chat and help you decide.
Level 1 – Beginner
You're relatively new to mountain biking and still building confidence on trails. You enjoy local rides and are comfortable on flowing terrain, but steeper descents, loose rocks, roots, and technical features can feel challenging. It's completely normal to get off and walk sections when needed.
This weekend is likely to be too challenging if this sounds like you.
Level 2 – Intermediate
You ride trails regularly and are comfortable on a variety of terrain. You've tackled steeper descents, loose surfaces, roots, rocks, and tighter corners. You don't need to ride everything and are happy to walk the occasional feature, but you're confident spending a full day exploring mountain trails.
Most riders on our weekends will fall into the high end of this category, so right between intermediate and advanced.
Level 3 – Advanced
You actively seek out technical trails and enjoy challenging terrain. Steep descents, rock gardens, roots, switchbacks, and natural trail features are all part of the fun. You ride confidently in varied conditions and are comfortable on red bike park trails.
You'll have a great time exploring Verbier's more technical alpine terrain.
Level 4 – Expert
You have years of experience riding technical mountain terrain and are comfortable on demanding natural trails and black bike park runs. Steep, rocky, exposed, and highly technical trails are where you feel most at home.
You'll be able to enjoy everything the mountain has to offer.
A Note on Alpine Riding
Riding in the Alps can feel more demanding than your local trails. The terrain is often steeper, longer, and more technical, with loose rocks, roots, and sustained descents. If you're unsure whether this trip is right for you, get in touch—we'd much rather help you find the right group than have you worrying about your riding level.
Fitness Level
Our weekends are best suited to riders with a solid Level 2 fitness or above. Thanks to the lifts, some of the hard work is done for you, but you'll still spend long days on the bike and need enough energy to enjoy three consecutive days of riding.
Level 1 – Marmot
Like the alpine marmot, you're happiest enjoying the mountains at a relaxed pace. You stay active and enjoy riding, but don't follow a regular training plan. A few hours on the bike feels comfortable, and you're happy cruising local trails and rolling terrain.
You may find the length of the days and alpine terrain quite demanding.
Level 2 – Chamois
Sure-footed, adaptable, and comfortable spending the day in the mountains. You ride regularly and stay active through other sports or exercise. You're happy being active for 4–6 hours and can handle a full day on the bike, including climbs of up to 1,000m and 30–50km of riding (mostly downhill of course).
Most riders on our weekends will fit into this category.
Level 3 – Ibex
Strong, resilient, and always ready to keep moving. You ride often, enjoy long days in the saddle, and recover well between rides. Multiple big days back-to-back sound exciting rather than intimidating. Days with 50km+ of riding and climbs of up to 1,600m are comfortably within your range.
You'll be well prepared for everything the weekend throws at you.
Level 4 – Golden Eagle
Effortless, powerful, and always looking for the next peak. You train regularly, love a challenge, and rarely worry about whether you've got enough left in the tank for another lap. Long days, big distances, and plenty of vertical are all part of the fun. Riding 70km+ and climbing 2,000m in a day sounds like a good outing.
Good on ya. We probably won't be as fast as you, but you'll still have plenty of energy left for post-ride drinks and trail stories.
